SNAPSHOTS BINGO

WHAT IS FLASH FICTION BINGO?

Flash fiction is a kind of literature that limits the author to a word count of 1,500 words or less. It’s longer than a drabble (100 words) but shorter than a full-length short story.Snapshots (est. 2020) was flash fiction event that aimed to give a breather to Carat writers and readers alike by inspiring stories within a 1,000-word limit. This time, we’re spicing things up with bingo cards featuring randomly generated tropes to spark fresh Seventeen-inspired flash fiction. In keeping with the spirit of both Snapshots and other bingo events, this is a low-commitment, low-stress event. Upon receiving their cards, writers may choose to submit as many or as little fics as they'd like.We look forward to your creations!

SCORING RULES

Free Space is not automatically filled. Once you're ready to use it, identify the trope of your choosing in your fic/ promo post.
❖ We now accept any trope (even those not on the masterlist) for the free square
Each square filled (including free space) = 2 points. A square can only be scored once, but tropes can be reused.
Regular Bingos
❖ A completed bingo (5 in a row) gets +10 points.
❖ You can have multiple bingos in one card! Each succeeding bingo on the same card gets +20 points.
❖ A blackout card gets +170 points.

Special Pattern Challenge: 17
❖ Scoring retroactively changes if a writer decides to close their card early by submitting it for the special pattern bonus.
Each pattern square filled gets +8 points. The rest of the squares remain at 2 points each.
❖ A successfully completed special pattern gives +214 bonus points.
❖ You can still fill other squares or achieve other bingos on your special pattern card, but a card submitted for the special pattern will be disqualified for a blackout bonus and vice versa.

Special Challenges: Earn extra points for fills submitted during a certain month! Cut-off of monthly scoring is midnight UTC on the last day of the month.
